 KX Television - Definition

KX Television is a group of four television stations in western North Dakota owned by Reiten Broadcasting of Minot. All of the stations are affiliated with the Columbia Broadcasting System. The stations style themselves as Your Eye on Dakota, an allusion to the CBS logo.

The network consists of four stations:

KXMA in Dickinson, North Dakota (Channel 2)
KXMB in Bismarck, North Dakota (Channel 12)
KXMC in Minot, North Dakota (Channel 13)
KXMD in Williston, North Dakota (Channel 11)

The stations do not share ownership with nearby KXJB of Fargo, North Dakota or KXGN of Glendive, Montana, but KX stations have shared some news stories with KXJB in the past.

Newscasts

KXMB and KXMC produce local newscasts daily at 12pm, 6pm and 10pm. The KXMB telecasts are simulcast on KXMA, while KXMD repeats KXMC.

KXMB produces a morning show at 6am and co-produces a 5pm newscast with KXMC. Both are broadcast on all stations.

Other Programs

KX stations occasionally broadcast special programming. The North Dakota State Fair parade in Minot is aired live every July.

History

KXMC's predecessor KCJB was the first television station in North Dakota, going on the air in 1954. KXMB was the first digital television station in North Dakota when it went online in 2002.
