Kailsha Kailsha

Kailsha - Definition and Overview

Kailsha is the place where Lord Shiva and Parvathi reside. It is believed to be situated in the northern part of India in the Himalayas. Kailsha is considered as a burial ground where the dead bodies were burnt. Shiva never used to take bath and used to smell bad with ashes left of the burnt dead bodies. Not liking to stay at that place, Parvathi pleaded Shiva that they would get a good palace constructed and then was built the great Lanka. Before moving into their new home, Lanka, they request Ravana to perform the puja. Impressed by Ravana’s puja, Shiva asks him to wish anything. Ravana wishes to have the place Lanka for himself. Keeping his word, Shiva gives Lanka to Ravana and moves back to Kailsha
