Kama is a Japanese and Chinese farming device that is similar to a small sickle. It was used by farmers to protect themselves from bandits, like all other early martial art weapons it was commonly found and could not be classified as a weapon because of its farming use to cut wheat. Kamas are used in many martial arts including Kenpo.
