Kamsko-Votkinsk - Definition and Overview

Votkinsk (Во́ткинск) is a small industrial town in the ural parts of the District of Viatka in former Vyatka Province, about 450 miles ENE of Moscow, in Udmurtia, Russia.

Other names: Kamsko-Votkinsk or Kamsko-Votinsk

It was the birthplace and early residence of Russian composer Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (also written as Peter Tchaikovsky in English and Пётр Ильи́ч Чайко́вский in Russian).

The Moscow Institute of Thermal Technology operates a machine plant here which produces some of Russia's long-range ballistic missiles.
