Kashima, Saga - Definition and Overview

Kashima (鹿島市; -shi) is a city located in Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 32,867 and the density of 293.25 persons per km². The total area is 112.08 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1954.
