Kate McGarrigle - Definition and Overview

Kate McGarrigle (born February 6, 1946 in Saint-Sauveur-des-Monts, Quebec) is a Canadian folk music singer/songwriter, who writes and performs as a duo with her sister Anna McGarrigle.

She is also the mother of pop singers Rufus Wainwright and Martha Wainwright through her marriage to American singer/songwriter Loudon Wainwright III, from whom she is now divorced.
