Kelly Fleming (January 6, 1983 – April 20, 1999) was one of the students killed in the Columbine High School massacre. She was an aspiring songwriter and author who wrote scores of poems and short stories based on her life experiences.
Kelly had recently moved from Phoenix, Arizona after her father got a job transfer to Denver, Colorado. She was eager to get her driver's license and wanted a part-time job at a daycare center so she could save enough money to buy a Mustang or a Corvette. On April 20, 1999, Kelly was shot in her school's library, where she often went to write, during the lunch hour. She was 16 years old.
Her mother later published a poem of hers in Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul III (published in April 2000).
