Kenneth Davis Anthony (born January 8 1951) is the prime minister of Saint Lucia. He is from the St Lucia Labour Party (SLP). He became prime minister on May 24, 1997, a day after his party, which had been out of power for over a decade and of which he had been elected leader the year before, won parliamentary elections. He had been a member of one of the last labor governments, as minister of education from 1980 until 1981. From 1995 until he was elected leader of the Labor Party, he was a member of the secretariate of the Caribbean Community. He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies.
