 Kevin Brady - Definition

Kevin Patrick Brady (born April 11, 1955) is a politician from the state of Texas.

Brady was born in Vermillion, South Dakota and he graduated from the University of South Dakota. Brady moved to Texas after graduating from college. He was elected to the Texas House of Representatives as a Republican in 1990. Congressman Jack Fields chose not to run for re-election in 1996 and Brady ran for his seat in the U.S. House, District 8. Brady faced fellow Republican Eugene Fontenot four times in 1996. Fontenot lead Brady in the primary in March, but Brady won the runoff election in April. The United States Supreme Court ordered the redrawing of thirteen districts, including the district Brady was running in. So Brady faced and defeated Fontenot again in November in an all-party primary, but they had to go to a runoff election in December, where Brady won again. As a Congressman, Brady has advocated Victim's Rights and called for the abolition of the IRS. Brady hasn't had a serious threat in his four reelection campaigns.
