On the night of September 18, 2004, he marriedBritney Spears in a non-denominational surprise ceremony at a private home in Studio City, California before 20-30 guests. Britney reportedly had to pay for her five-carat engagement ring, and initially refused to have Federline sign a pre-nuptial agreement, although later he did sign one. Federline has two small children with actress Shar Jackson. He began to date Britney Spears during Shar's second pregnancy.
