In Egyptian mythology, Chons (alternately Khensu, Khons, Khonsu or Khonshu) is a lunar deity, and a son of Amun and Mut. In art, he is portrayed as a man with the posture of a mummy and curved beard along with a full moon and a crescent moon on his head dress.
