Kindred: The Embraced was a 1996 Fox television series/vampire soap opera, produced by Aaron Spelling. Comprising eight episodes, it was (very) loosely based on the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade. The whole series was released on a two-DVD Region 1 set on August 17, 2004.

The main plot arc involves a San Francisco police detective, Frank Kohanek (played by C. Thomas Howell), who becomes increasingly deeply embroiled in The Masquerade when investigating a "mobster", Julian Luna (played by Mark Frankel), who is actually the Ventrue Prince of the city.

Not all the Vampire: The Masquerade clans featured in the series; the only clans represented in the "Conclave" (effectively, the Camarilla, though there is no mention of the Sabbat or any war, other than inter-clan) are:

  • Brujah (primogen: Eddie Fiori, played by Brian Thompson)
  • Gangrel (primogen: Cash, played by Channon Roe)
  • Nosferatu (primogen: Dædalus, played by Jeff Kober)
  • Toreador (primogen: Lillie Langtry, played by Stacy Haiduk)
  • Ventrue (primogen: Archon Raine, played by Patrick Bauchau)

We also meet one character who is an Assamite but no other clans are evident and no Kindred appear to be Caitiff.
