Kirishima (霧島町; -chou) is a town located in Aira District, Kagoshima, Japan.
As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 5,816 and the density of 70.46 persons per km². The total area is 82.54 km².
A battleship built by the Japanese Navy was named after the town. It fought in World War II in the Pacific, and was sunk in the Battle of Guadalcanal.
