Kovrov (Ковро́в) is a town in Vladimir Oblast, on the river Klyazma with a population of about 153,000 (1985).
Known since the 12th century, Kovrov attained town status in 1778.
There are some industries, including the Degtyarev plant that produces both weapons and motorcycles (strange combination, but it was typical in the Soviet Union).
