Krishna Das (born Jeffrey Kagel in Long Island, New York) is a singer who performs Indian chants, called kirtans. Krishna Das travelled to India in the 1960's where along with Ram Das he studied with a Hindu guru named Neem Karoli Baba. Krishna Das became a Buddhist and now he is devoted to singing and teaching. He has several CD's, and he travels around the world giving performances/teachings, sometimes along with Ram Das. The audience also sings along with him, which sounds very hippie but can in fact be a very moving and powerful experience.
