Kumagaya (Japanese: 熊谷市; -shi) is a city located in Saitama, Japan and part of the Greater Tokyo Area.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 156,434 and the density of 1,836.51 persons per km². The total area is 85.18 km².

The city was founded on April 1, 1933.
