The L96 is a precision rifle or sniper rifle produced by the British firm Accuracy International.
It was designed by Olympic shottist Malcolm Cooper and was adopted in British Service in the early 1980s as a replacement for the ageing Lee-Enfield-derived L42. It has since been adopted by a number of countries and derivatives are is available in different calibres including the notably intense .338 Lapua Magnum.
