LGV Nord - Definition and Overview

The Ligne a Grande Vitesse Nord is a French high speed railway line that runs from the Parisien Gare du Nord, to Lille, where it divides, one line going north to the Belgian border, where it connects to Belgian high speed network that links it to Brussels, Cologne and the Netherlands, and one going west to Calais, which connects via the Channel Tunnel to the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and ultimately, London

Intermediary stations between Paris and Lille are Charles de Gaulles Airport and TGV Haute-Picardie (nickamed Gare des betteraves - Beetroot Station - because it is located in the middle of nowhere).
