La Ley (Spanish, "The Law") is a Chilean rock band, formed in Santiago by Luciano Andrés Rojas and Luis Alberto Cuevas Olmedo with Archi Frugone, Mauricio Clavera and Andrés Bobe. Singles like "Desiertos," "Tejedores De Illusion," and "Prisioneros De La Piel" made them stars in Chile, Argentina and Mexico, especially after the release of Doble Opuesto, their second recording. After Bobe's death in 1994, La Ley continued and released two more albums, Invisible (1995) and Vértigo (1998). The last La Ley albums, Uno 2000 and Libertad 2003 failed to follow up on their earlier succeces, partly because of their music becoming too pop and less experimental, partly because the musicians dropped their appealing dark image and instead dressing too much according to fashion trends, and partly because appearing on MTV, shunned by rock en español fans as a product of commercial merchandizing.

La Ley also performed on MTV Unplugged and in 2004 released a greatest hits compilation (featuring three new songs) titled "Historias E Histeria."
