Larne Borough Council is a Local Council in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. Its headquarters is in the town of Larne and the population of the area is nearly 31,000. Larne is one of the most modern roll on-roll off ferry ports in the United Kingdom with a busy passenger traffic with Scotland.

The Larne Borough Council area consists of 3 electoral areas: Larne Town, Larne Lough and Coast Road. Following the last election in 2001 and a by-election in November 2004 15 members were elected from the following political parties: 4 Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), 4 Ulster Unionist Party (UUP), 3 Independent, 2 Alliance Party and 2 Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP). The current Mayor is Councillor Roy Craig (Independent) and the Deputy Mayor is Councillor Gerardine Mulvenna (Alliance Party).

The next election is due to take place in May 2005.

Together with the neighbouring district of Carrickfergus and part of Newtownabbey, it forms the East Antrim constituency for elections to the Westminster Parliament and Northern Ireland Assembly. See Also: Local Councils in Northern Ireland
