The town and municipality Larvik in the county of Vestfold, Norway,
has 40,990 inhabitants as of January 1, 2004. The municipality covers an area of 530 km². The district also includes the villages Stavern, Nevlunghavn, Helgeroa, Kvelde, Hvarnes and Tjølling, and the well of Farris.
Larvik has a daily ferry connection to Frederikshavn in Denmark.
Larvik houses the Treschow estate which is currently owned by Mille-Marie Treschow, the richest woman in Norway.
