Laurentian mountains - Definition and Overview |

The Laurentian mountains (French: Laurentides) are a mountain range in southern Quebec, Canada, north of the St. Lawrence River and Ottawa rivers, it rises to 960.8 metres (3,150 feet). The Gatineau, L'Assomption, Lièvre, Montmorency, and St. Maurice rise in lakes in this mountain range.
Note that although one of Quebec's official regions is called Laurentides, the mountain range runs through three other regions; Outaouais, Lanaudière, and Mauricie.
