Law & Order: Criminal Intent is a United States crime drama television series that began in 2001. It is a spin-off of Law & Order, and is presented on the NBC and USA networks.

Cast

  • Detective Robert Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio), a quirky yet extraordinarily intelligent murder investigator and profiler known for his good instincts. He is an intense and intelligent man who has a college degree including units in psychology. Often, Goren's intuition turns out to be the case-breaker, rather than solid evidence, which is usually the case in the other two series.
  • Detective Alexandria Eames (Kathryn Erbe), a quiet, practical partner who, despite the inherent character differences between the two, always seems to mesh well with Goren.
  • Captain James Deakins (Jamey Sheridan). Goren and Eames answer to Capt. Deakins.
  • District Attorney Ron Carver (Courtney B. Vance), a by-the-books legal figure who often pressures Goren and Eames for additional evidence.

Trivia

  • The show takes place in the "Major Case Squad", which investigates high-profile cases.
  • Criminal Intent, unlike the other shows in the Law & Order franchise, gives a great amount of attention to the actions of the criminals, rather than only to the police.
