Libido (band) - Definition

Libido is a Peruvian rock band formed in 1996.

Band members are Salim Vera (vocals, guitars), Antonio Jauregui (bass), Manolo Hidalgo (lead guitar) and Jeffry Fischman (drums). They released their self titled album Libido in 1998. It included hit singles like "Como un perro" and "Sed". Libido became known as one of the best rock bands in Peru and they started touring all over the country.

In February, 2000 the band took a break and started recording their next album called Hembra. The album quickly became number one in Peru and the single En esta habitacion was nominated for a Latin Grammy. Libido starts to get attention from the press in South America and was considered one of the finest rock bands of the year. In December of 2002 the band release their third album called Pop Porn which repeats the succes of Hembra. The first single from that album, Fragil becomes number one for three weeks on MTV charts and is nominated for one MTV Music Award.

In december 2004 Libido released their first acoustic album called LibidoAcustica.
