Licq Licq

Licq - Definition and Overview

In computing, Licq is a free clone of the official ICQ client that runs on Linux and on other Unix systems. Licq has many of the features of the official client, and has the advantage of not having built-in ads like the AOL's client. In addition, it is possible to encrypt messages using SSL when talking to contacts that also use Licq. It lacks, however, support for sending acknowledged messages.

Licq is licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. The default user interface uses Qt, though other interfaces, such as the console or the GTK ones, are availaible through the use of plugins.
