Lidzbark Warmiński (pronounce: ['liʣbarg var'miɲski], German Heilsberg) is a town in the Polish voivodship Warmia i Mazury.

History
The town was founded in the Teutonic State of Prussia in 1240 and in 1306 it became the seat for the imperial Prince-Bishop of Warmia (German Ermland) and remained his seat for 500 years. After the war between Teutonic Order and Poland in 1466 the town became part of the Polish province of Royal Prussia.
Like whole Warmia, Lidzbark in 1772, during the first Partition of Poland, was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia. In 1807 a battle took place at Heilsberg between the French under Murat and Soult and the Russians and Prussians under Bennigsen.
After World War II the whole territory was given to Poland.
