Lisinopril (lye-SIH-no-pril) is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor for hypertension, congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, and renal and retinal complications of diabetes. It has a relatively long half-life (about 12 hours). It was developed by Merck & Co. and is marketed worldwide by Merck with the brand name Prinivil and by AstraZeneca with the brand name Zestril. In Australia it is marketed by AlphaPharm with the brand name Lisodur. |
