Live on The Edge of Forever is the first live album by progressive metalband Symphony X, which was recorded on their European tour in 2000 and 2001. The album starts like their most recent studio effort V: The New Mythology Suite, but surprisingly, when Death of Balance normally switches to Lacrymosa, it now switches to Candlelight Fantasia from the The Divine Wings of Tragedy album.
After that, many recent classics are played, like the neo-classical Smoke and Mirrors and the epic The Divine Wings of Tragedy. No tracks of the first two albums are performed.
