Logan County is a county located in the state of Ohio. As of 2000, the population is 46,005. Its county seat is Bellefontaine6.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,209 km² (467 mi²). 1,187 km² (458 mi²) of it is land and 22 km² (8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.79% water.

There are 21,571 housing units at an average density of 18/km² (47/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 96.15% White, 1.71% Black or African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.27% from other races, and 1.24% from two or more races. 0.72% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 17,956 households out of which 33.30% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.00% are married couples living together, 9.50% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.10% are non-families. 24.80% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.30% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
