Long Island University is a private university with its primary campus in Brooklyn, New York.

There are two other branches of the university. The C.W. Post campus is located in Brookville, New York. Southampton College is located in Southampton, New York. LIU-Southampton also owns Friends World Program, an international college of global studies headquartered at Southampton College.

In June, 2004, LIU announced that the undergraduate programs at Southampton College would be closed in June, 2005, with any remaining students and faculty allowed to transfer to the C.W. Post campus. Some programs may still remain at the Southampton College, though the future is very much uncertain at the present.
