A long distance anchor pylon is an anchor pylon at the end of a line section with large span. With long distance anchor pylons the distances of the conductor cables are increased in relation to the usual values, in order a smashing together of the conductor cables in the storm, which can lead to short-circuits to prevent. Long distance anchor pylons must be very stably built because of the high traction powers in the conductor cables. They are implemented occasionally as portal pylon. Sometimes with large spans and exposed situation of the long distance anchor pylon also for the achievement of a large line distance for each conductor cable its own pylon is used.
