The Longwave transmitter Solec Kujawski is the new longwave broadcasting facility of the Polish broadcasting company for the frequency 225 kHz. Its construction was necessary after the collapse of Warsaw radio mast on August 10th, 1991 and the resistance of the local population against its reconstruction.
The longwave transmitter Solec Kujawski was built in 1998/99 on a former military area near Solec Kujawski. The transmitter in this facility has a power of 1000 kilowatts and is equipped with mosfet amplifiers.
As aerials a directional aerial, consisting of a 330 metre high and a 289 metre high guyed grounded mast is used, which are 330 metres apart.
The 330 metre mast is Poland's eight tallest construction.
