Luc Plamondon (born March 2, 1945) is a Quebecois song lyricist. His important international success has earned him the title of Most popular and Greatest lyricist of the Francophonie.

Profile

Plamondon has written for many artists, notably the Quebecois Diane Dufresne, Robert Charlebois, Céline Dion, Ginette Reno and Garou, as well as the French Julien Clerc, Nicole Croisille and Johnny Halliday. He is the co-author of a number of musicals. The two most successful are Starmania and Notre-Dame de Paris. He is a Quebec sovereigntist and is against internet music piracy.

Honour

In 2002 he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
