Lugger Lugger

Lugger - Definition and Overview

A lugger is a type of small sailing vessel that mounts one or more square sails. A lugsail is hung from a spar that does not use lifts, and is therefore usually set obliquely to the mast. A balanced lug rig will appear with its sail more or less perpendicular to the mast.
