MCPS - Definition

The MCPS (Mechanical Copyright Protection Society) is a collection society responsible for the collecting of royalties owed from the use and public playing of Music that is under copyright. the owner of this copyright must be a full member, they must pay an upfront joining fee and then a yearly toll to the MCPS in order for them to work on there behalf. The MCPS is also a part of the MCPS-PRS Alliance in which they work alongside the Performing Right Society (PRS) in the acquiring of royalties owed to Composers, songwriters and Music Publishers
