MUD client - Definition and Overview

A mud client is a software used to connect to a MUD. Essentially, it is nothing more than a telnet client which has been designed to specifically work well with mudding. Standard features seen in most mud clients include ANSI color support, aliases, triggers and scripting. The client can often be extended almost indefinitely with its built-in scripting language. One of the most popular clients for Microsoft Windows is zMUD which is a commercial program that costs money. A shareware client for Windows is MUSHClient.
