MX is a newspaper that Melburnians and commuters usually read on trains, trams, and other forms of public transport. It is published from Monday to Friday.
It was created by the Murdoch stable in 2000 in response to young people not reading newspapers. It contains news, sport and weather. Some of its regular features include news from each Australian state, and "What in the World", also a world news column called "Important but Boring".
It contains many ads from Melbourne organisations, as well as a sizeable list of cultural activities that appeal to the 16-39 age group including films and art galleries.
Every day (Monday to Friday) it covers a Melbourne suburb from a property point of view.
MX has a quiz every day for which the winner gets a Parker Pen. It has become a very popular newspaper with city-goers. It is distributed around the city, most commonly at City Loop railway stations.
