The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (often given as just Fantasy and Science Fiction or F&SF) is a digest size American science fiction magazine. It was first published in 1949 as The Magazine of Fantasy with Anthony Boucher and J. Francis McComas as its editors, adding and Science Fiction from its second issue on. It was initially quarterly, then bi-monthly and finally monthly. As of 2004 it continues to publish literary science fiction, fantasy and horror stories. There are now 11 issues per year, including an "anniversary double issue" every October.

Editors over the years have included Avram Davidson, Edward L. Ferman, Kristine Kathryn Rusch and current editor Gordon van Gelder. All of its editors have maintained a very high literary standard.

There have been numerous single-author specials over the years. Featured authors have included Poul Anderson, Isaac Asimov, James Blish, Harlan Ellison, Stephen King and Theodore Sturgeon.

Isaac Asimov also wrote a science column for the magazine that ran for 399 monthly issues without a break.
