Mahamane Ousmane (born January 20, 1950) was a Nigerienpolitical figure. He served as the president of Niger between 27 March1993 and 27 January1996. He was the first democratically elected president of Niger, but was deposed in a military coup. He got second place in the July 1996 presidential election, third place in the 1999 presidential election and third place in the November 2004 election with 17.4% of the vote.
