Maizuru, Kyoto - Definition and Overview

Maizuru (舞鶴市; -shi) is a city located in Kyoto, Japan, on an inlet of the Sea of Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 93,888 and the density of 274.44 persons per km². The total area is 342.11 km².

The city was founded on May 27, 1943.
