For a long time people thought Makiivka (MAKĪĪBKA) was established in 1777, but recent research show that it was mentioned in a history records even before that.
The city was established by cossak Makiy (that's where the name came from). It is in Ukraine.
Population - approximately 500 000 people.
Makiivka is an industrial city.
