Malfunkshun were an early grunge band in the 1980s. The only released material during the band's career was on a compilation Deep Six, but five years after lead singer Andrew Wood's death from a heroin overdose in March 1990, on the day Wood's then band Mother Love Bone's was released, MLB guitarist Stone Gossard (currently performing with Pearl Jam) released Return to Olympus, a compilation of demos recorded by the band.
