This it an area of Ahmedabad city, Gujarat, India. It is in the southern part of the city.
Kankaria lake is situated in this area. This area is also hosts a train station on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai line where most of the major trains stops.
This suburb was out of loop of Ahmedabad a few years back. But in the last decade it has got closer. This an be observed by the fact that many retailers, franchies, restaurents consisder it important to have a branch in Maninagar.
Trivia
Maninagar train station is the last major stop before North bound trains stop at Ahmedabad. At times Ahmedabad bound people might just get down at this station and go home and would still reach a good half hour faster then deboarding at Ahmedabad. This would be especially true if the train is delayed because of platform availability at Ahmedabad station.
