Manji (era) - Definition

Manji (万治) was a Japanese era name after Meireki and before Kambun and spanned from 1658 to 1661. The reigning emperor was Go-Sai.

Change of Era

Because of disasters such as a great fire in Edo, on 7th month 23rd day, Meireki 4 (1658), the era was changed to Manji (万治)
