Missing image Manly_Beach.jpg Manly Beach Manly is a council and a suburb of Sydney, Australia, situated at the south end of the Northern Beaches area of Sydney. Some of its suburbs such as Balgowlah overlap with the Warringah Council area to the north. It is most notable for its beaches, popular tourist destinations. Manly was named by Capt. Arthur Phillip, after his impression of the Australian Aborigines that waded out to meet him. Transport services to Manly include an efficient Ferry service from Manly Wharf, and bus services to the city and other suburbs. High-rise buildings and apartments line the foreshore; a testament to high popularity of the area. The ferry service formerly advertised Manly as "seven miles from Sydney, and a thousand miles from care." Missing image
