Mark Jackson (born April 1 1965 in Brooklyn, New York) is a 6'3 former basketball player who played point guard for the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association in a career spanning from 1987 to 2004. Mark gained a reputation as a streetballer in New York and a college hoops star at St. John's University, and was drafted as the 18th pick in the 1987 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. Mark teamed with Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, and John Starks to turn the Knicks into a prime playoff team in the early 1990s.

Mark had a steady career with the Knicks, averaging 13.6 points per game and 10.6 assists per game, earning him the Rookie of the Year award. After the 1992 season, Mark was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, a trade that saw Charles Smith and Doc Rivers go to the Knicks. Mark later was traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he teamed with Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Antonio Davis, and Dale Davis to make the Indiana Pacers a strong contender. After a short stint with the Denver Nuggets, Mark returned to the Pacers. Mark later played for the Utah Jazz before retiring as a member of the Houston Rockets in 2004. Mark is currently ranked second in the NBA all-time assists list. Mark currently works as an analyst for ESPN.
