Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg (born June 5, 1971 in Dorchester, Massachusetts) is an American entertainer, and is now known primarily as an actor. He first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the New Kids on the Block. After his brother's bubblegum pop group ended, Mark began recording as Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, earning hits with "Good Vibrations" and "Wild Side" from Music for the People. His second LP, You Gotta Believe, was a relative failure. He was seen most prominently in a series of underwear ads from Calvin Klein, and would drop his pants as part of musical show. He then began an acting career, earning extremely positive reviews.
Mark has admitted to having being a drug user. When he was around 15 he injured a Vietnamese man and, briefly, went to jail. Mark denies that the crime was racial.
