Marvin Camras (January 1, 1916 - June 23, 1995) invented magnetic recording. He developed the first basic wire recorder in the 1930s. His early recorders were vital in the misinformation of World War II. He also developed multi-track tape recording, magnetic sound for motion pictures, and the video tape recorder.
