Mary Esther Wells was born May 13, 1943, and
died July 26, 1992 of cancer of the larynx. She was a chart-topping singer of pop music.
Auditioned for Tamla Records (Berry Gordy).
Signed to Gordy's Motown label in 1961.
Remained with Motown until 1966.
One of the signature voices of the Motown Sound.
