Matador is the title of a 1987 musical by Mike Leander and Edward Seago, which tells the story of Manuel Benitez, El Cordobes.

Although the singer Tom Jones was keen to play the lead, and gave up his Las Vegas cabaret shows to return to the UK for that purpose, the musical was unable to attract the financial backing required. Jones did, however, take the lead in a studio cast recording of the musical, and the first single lifted from it, A Boy From Nowhere, became his first UK top ten hit for fifteen years.
